To create lists, the system has two different concepts: views and segments. Both are configurable on a per-entity basis.
Segments
Preset filters to quickly perform a search. For example, consider "past due invoices" or "customers from Brussels." Any search you would need to do regularly can basically be added as a segment. Segments are also useful to set up a certain search only 1 time. If you have a list of won offers, but you also have a dashboard widget with the sum of all won offers, for example, it pays to create a segment for this. That way your filters are set in one place in the system and both the dashboard widget and the list use the same filters.
If you ever need to change the filter, you only have to do it in 1 place.
β
Views
Views are a combination of preset filters as well as preset columns. So this is a complete custom built list. So you can easily set up a list to be consulted regularly, at once also with the columns you want to see at that moment.
This way you can easily put additional lists in your menu such as orders that are still to be processed, invoices that are due, ...

Columns to set? | No | Yes |
Can a user still personalize the display? | Yes | No |
