Why enter a separate hourly cost for a user?
To deal with situations where you want to hide a colleague's cost per hour, this is an alternative method.
For example, it may happen that there are colleagues who have access to both products and product cost prices. If you were to work with a default hour type per user, such a user would be able to access his colleague's hourly cost.
Instead of using hour types, you can therefore enter the 'Cost per hour' field directly to a user's profile. This has the same implications as setting a default hour type, but offers more privacy.
More privacy
Using this method keeps an employee's actual cost hidden from others who have access to product data. This is particularly useful in situations where privacy regarding payroll data is of great importance.
Functionality is retained
Like setting a default hourly type, this method ensures that the system automatically applies the correct cost when calculating returns and generating reports. It ensures consistency in billing and reporting without compromising the privacy of individual users.
