This help desk article provides more information on what data is synchronized to Klaviyo once the link to it is built into your webshop.

There are two types of information sent to Klaviyo and they are:

  • order status updates

  • All products ordered by a user

Klaviyo also offers the possibility to start tracking events on your webshop itself. This is also explained me all the possibilities thereafter.

Status updates of the order

At each new order and sales order status update, the new status and content of the order is forwarded to Klaviyo.

These are:

  • User profile

  • Name

  • Email

  • First name

  • Surname

From the order itself:

  • Order Id

  • Order Number

  • Order status name

  • Orderstatus enum value

  • Payment status

  • Department

  • PO number

  • Order type

  • Total delivery weight

  • Payment URL (if webshop order with online payment)

  • Payment method

  • List of names of all order lines

  • List of all product manufacturers

  • Currency

  • Total discount on the order (in EUR)

  • Total discount on the order in currency

  • Total excluding VAT (in EUR)

  • Total excluding VAT in currency

  • Total incl. VAT (in EUR)

  • Total incl. VAT in currency

  • Delivery address

  • Billing address

  • Old status

Of the individual items in the order:

  • Productid

  • Product code

  • SKU (= product code. Required by Klaviyo)

  • Product name

  • Brand of product

  • Order line name

  • Total including VAT (in EUR)

  • Total discount (in EUR)

  • Total discount in currency (in EUR)

  • Total excluding VAT (in EUR)

  • Total excluding VAT in currency

  • Stock price in currency

  • Number

Overview of all products ordered from customer

To send targeted emails, Klaviyo receives notification of all products purchased by a user.
Each message contains the order ID and order number and following product details

  • Product id

  • Product code

  • SKU (= product code. Required by Klaviyo)

  • Product name

  • Brand of product

  • Order line name

  • Total including VAT (in EUR)

  • Total discount (in EUR)

  • Total discount in currency (in EUR)

  • Total excluding VAT (in EUR)

  • Total excluding VAT in currency

  • Stock price in currency

  • Number

What data can be collected on a webshop

Only logged in users can be tracked. This is to be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG / GDPR).
The tracking of user actions must be in the terms and conditions of the web shop.

At each Klaviyo event, the user's current data is forwarded:

  • Email

  • First name

  • Family name

  • Company

The various events that can be tracked are:

  • Viewing a product

  • Viewing a product catalog

  • Subscribing to the newsletter

  • Start placing the order

  • Registering a new user account

  • Add a product to the shopping cart.

  • Doing a search on the webshop.

  • Below you can read for each event exactly what data we send to Klaviyo.

When viewing a product

We will then forward the following fields:

  • Product name

  • ProductId

  • Product code

  • SKU (= product code, required by Klaviyo)

  • URL (= url of product page viewed)

When viewing a product catalog

We will then forward the following fields:

  • Catalog name

  • Catalog URL (=url of catalog viewed)

Subscribe to the newsletter

When a user registers for your newsletter, only his/her email address is forwarded to Klaviyo.

Start-of-checkout

When a user begins to place the actual order through the web shop, the following data is forwarded to Klaviyo:

  • URL of checkout page

  • List of names of all items in the shopping cart

  • Total value of the shopping cart (including VAT and including discounts)

Items in shopping cart
For each item in the shopping cart, we provide the following data:

  • Product ID

  • Product name

  • Number

  • Pricing (including VAT and including discounts)

  • Price (including VAT and including discounts)

When creating a new account on the webshop (registration)

When a user registers on the web shop we forward the following fields:

  • Email

  • First name

  • Family name

  • Company

  • Speak title

  • ID of portal user

When adding an item to shopping cart

When a user adds a product to the shopping cart we forward the following fields:

  • Product name

  • Productid

  • Price (including VAT and including discounts)

  • Number added

  • Url to checkout page

  • All items in the shopping cart

When searching on the webshop

When the user searches for products in via the search bar we forward their search.
